A message begins, ‘Can we talk?’ Nothing else has happened yet. Still, you’re preparing an explanation, feeling the urge to leave or suddenly unable to find a word.
You’re older now. You understand more. Your life may be very different. What’s unsettling is how quickly those differences can disappear from the moment.
They Said Time Would… is a guided sensual seven day journey into the reactions time hasn’t resolved, and how the past can keep influencing what you expect, feel and do now.
Later, you can explain it. You know why disappointment feels urgent to fix, why you go distant when someone needs you, or why you become efficient when something hurts.
But later isn’t when you sent the message, withdrew from the conversation or said everything was fine.
The pattern has already affected the moment by the time you can describe it. So the work has to reach the part that happens before your explanation.
Your throat tightens. Almost immediately, the moment acquires a meaning: ‘I’ve disappointed them.’ ‘They’ll need too much.’ ‘I’m on my own again.’
Then you act on that meaning. You apologise, pull away or stop asking. Each response may have helped you before. Here, it may move you out of the conversation before you know what this person actually meant.
Your history belongs in the picture. The question is whether there’s room for anything else.
It needs to be noticed in its own right. What’s this person doing? What remains unknown? What choice do you have that you didn’t have then?
They Said Time Would… follows the physical reaction, the meaning attached to it and the protective move that follows. It also makes room for what still hurts, including the care, acknowledgement or ending that time never supplied.
Through reading, writing, body maps and guided audio, you explore how to meet those experiences while staying in contact with what’s happening now. The book calls the small movement between the familiar reaction and a different response a Present Bridge.
The aim isn’t to argue the past away. It’s to stop requiring the present to repeat its answer.

The I Awake books are the integration of everything I’ve learned so far, lived and the raw, sensual magic of being human.
Together they map out the Sensual hero’s journey™.
It’s not just about awakening to a deeper awareness.
It’s about returning.
To the self. To the senses.
To the shared.
To enjoying ourselves together while we’re here.
I no longer choose between solitude and connection.
I live in the place where they kiss.
