There's a pleasure deficit in the world...

It’s not always easy to receive pleasure

We’re gathering stories from around the world, quiet stories, body stories, about how hard it can be to receive.
To feel pleasure without guilt.
To soften without apology.
To feel joy without earning it.
We call it The Pleasure Deficit.
You might know it as tension in your belly when you try to rest.
As numbness after giving too much.
As a voice that says: “Not yet. Not you. Not like this.”
Your voice belongs here. And you don’t have to explain it. You just have to be honest.

What to Expect

✨ Ten questions
✨ 3–5 minutes of your presence
✨ Entirely anonymous
✨ No right answers
✨ No pressure
✨ Just space

Close your eyes.
Notice one place in your body that wants to be heard.
Let that part of you answer.

Thank you for being here
For feeling. For noticing. For naming what’s true.
We want to understand what blocks you from receiving, whether it’s a tight chest when you try to rest, guilt after doing nothing, or a lifelong sense that pleasure is indulgent.
This research is part of a poetic, trauma-informed project by The Sensual Institute and will help shape future publications, somatic tools, and conversations about embodied healing.

Your voice matters. Your story is part of the collective.
If you’d like to receive the collective reflections when they’re ready, a soft report of what our bodies whispered back, you’re welcome to leave your email.
Only if it feels good. Only if it feels right.
This is your space.
Your pace.
Your yes.
