Personal growth

Personal growth

Personal growth isn’t just about picking up new skills or piling on more knowledge. Sometimes, it’s about peeling back the layers and unlearning the limits we’ve set for ourselves. This January, as I take the initial steps towards founding Sensual I, I’ve been on a deeply personal journey to rediscover my core values. These values have always been there, quietly guiding my decisions, but it was time to bring them into the light and let them shape my path forward.

A few years ago, my life took an unexpected turn. I found out I was going to have a baby. Choosing to keep him was the best decision of my life, but it brought a wave of mixed emotions.

Up until then, I had been living a life filled with adventure and discovery. I was deeply immersed in the sensual and creative realms – exploring Shibari, experiencing amazing lovers, enjoying creative freedom, and starting a new sensual fashion accessories brand. My weekends were a whirlwind of extraordinary parties and endless fun. Life was a blast, and I cherished my freedom and vibrant sex life. They were at the core of what I saw as my identity.

As my pregnancy progressed, I found myself wondering how motherhood would fit into this picture. Would it be as fun to be a mom? Could I maintain my social life and personal freedom? This question set me on a path of deep self-reflection and personal growth.

During my pregnancy, the idea for what would eventually become Sensual I began to take shape. I realized that life would change forever as a mom, but I refused to let this mean stagnation or settling into a monolithic version of myself.

My mission was to be the best mother I could be, and for me, that meant being the most awakened and vibrant version of myself. I wanted to shine brightly so that my son could see my light and be inspired to let his own light shine even brighter.

What I had learned during the years leading up to my pregnancy was the pivotal fact that real, lasting change always happens with others, never alone. I am who I am because of the people in my mind, life, and heart. We shape one another in a continuous process of mutual creation.

Ensuring that the right people are in my life and making sure I am the most authentic version of myself for them is, in many ways, an act of service in the deepest spiritual sense.

Why Core Values Matter

Core values act like a compass, guiding us through life’s decisions and challenges. They reflect what’s most important to us and help us navigate life’s complexities with a sense of authenticity. But uncovering these values isn’t always straightforward, especially when life’s noise drowns out our inner voice.

Here’s how I embarked on this journey of self-discovery and pinpointed my core values:

Every morning, I spent ten minutes jotting down moments when I felt most alive and fulfilled. I asked myself: What was I doing? Who was I with? What values were coming into play?

After a week of journaling, I started spotting patterns. I looked for recurring themes or values that kept showing up.

It was clear: creativity and personal freedom popped up often. Whether it was painting, writing, or simply daydreaming, these activities made me feel joyfully alive.

I made an extensive list of values and started narrowing them down. I saw how each value played a role in different areas of my life.

After some serious soul-searching, my top values became evident: Creativity, Freedom, Compassion,Community and Integrity.

I reached out to people who knew me well – friends, family, colleagues – asking them what values they saw in me.

When my mother pointed out Freedom and Integrity, it resonated deeply. It was like the outside world confirming what I felt inside.

Identifying my core values was a game-changer, but I knew the journey didn’t end there. Real growth happens when you’re supported, when you share it with others.

That’s why I’m creating Sensual I – a space where we can grow together, share our journeys, and support each other in discovering our true selves.

Personal growth is an ongoing process of looking inward and being honest with yourself. By identifying my core values, I reconnected with my inner compass, guiding me towards a more authentic and fulfilling life. My hope is that Sensual I offers the same opportunity for you – a community where you can grow, supported by others on the same journey.

If you’re feeling disconnected or unsure of what truly matters to you, I invite you to join Sensual I. We’re here with guided exercises, a supportive community, and resources to help you uncover and live by your core values. Together, we can help each other grow, faster and with more support than any of us could alone.

Let’s create our awakening together to make it real and lasting!
